I am a Feldenkrais practitioner, this is right up our alley! It follows on the work of College de France Research Prof. Alain Berthoz "The Brain's Sense of Movement" and on the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, Ph.D.(Sorbonne) who 'discovered' this 50 years ago; I am glad it has finally been 'proven'! Now I can go back to work with a clear conscience(con + science) on the flip side of the equation; " What happens when your body doesn't know what your brain is doing"! as with stroke sufferer's, Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy et. al,. Our Feldenkrais 'somatic movement education' work has been able to ameliorate this effect for years, because we have understanding of this phenomenon, and we can often help produce functional benefits for such 'conditions'. Can you imagine having the intention to make a move, doing it in intention, feeling 'as if' you have moved--and then 'nothing moved'? The frustration of that feeling would only serve to halt further movement attempts, and that is why many approaches fail to offer help to those with movement challenges.

Sincerely,
