Ice chess

More than two weeks ago, a different chess game took place between England and Russia. It was a chess game played on ice, simultaneously, in Moscow?s Pushkin Square and London?s Trafalgar Square, with huge, beautiful, cold pieces. Some of these ice sculptures were carved in such way that they represented various famous landmarks of the two cities.
More precisely, the game was held on gigantic chessboards measuring 64 square yards and each team had only 30 seconds for each move. The pieces were slowly melting while moved from one place to another.
Russian and British chess masters Anatoly Karpov and Nigel Short ended the “cold war”, as NBC News named it, with a draw.
