    yes i’m that geeky

  3. OK says:

    AMOR = LOVE

  4. DirtPile says:

    @DKarma, “AMOR in ascii”? Try again. It’s binary.

  5. Karkow says:

    @DirtPile yeah, it’s AMOR in ascii

    01000001 = 65 = A
    01001101 = 77 = M
    01001111 = 79 = O
    01010010 = 82 = R

    I’m also that geeky…

  6. Ben says:

    Not geeky enough DKarma haha… Sweet graffiti!

  7. chris says:

    @DirtPile, 01000001 in binary is 65 in decimal. 65 in ascii is A. Therefore 01000001 is A in ascii.

  8. Davin says:

    @DKarma
    If you convert it to ascii it is AMOR.

  9. Daniu says:

    @DirtPile,
    yes it’s binary, denoting four numbers.
    Encoding AMOR in ASCII.

    I like how it’s double geeky to use latin.

  10. Qjet says:

    @DirtPile
    I hope you’re joking.

  11. BigLou says:

    @DKarma: Boy, you’re so geeky you knew how to google a binary alphabet.

  12. i need a job says:

    I liked the select statement. Only a power geek would be compelled to write that in wet cement. LOL

    I need a job

  13. Nick says:

    Smart Crew NYC.

  14. just because says:

    @dirtpile, in binary it’s 01000001010011010100111101010010. In ASCII, it’s AMOR, in EBCDIC it’s ÁËÍb.

  15. Casual Dave says:

    My favorite geek out of this at that if this was posted in a newspaper it would have explanations with the pictures. It’s expected on the internets that people will now what this means or geeks will explain in the comments. There is a large portion of the world that wouldn’t even know what the “loading” picture is.

  16. John Davis says:

    Wow, that is like amazingly cool dude!

  17. Bork says:

    Mmmmm bacon..

  18. Mike says:

    its not binary or ascii, its just a bunch of ones and zeros… durr

  19. Jim says:

    I hate to see poor DirtPile treated this way! Can’t we all just get along!

  20. AliasP says:

    @Karkow – In the representation given, it is binary. True that binary translates to Ascii, and thus to text; however, the image does not say 65 77 79 82. So thus, in this sense it is simply Binary.

    @Jim – Hey, he’s the one who is calling himself “DirtPile”, lol.

  21. Chris says:

    @Jaron: LOL @ buffering

  22. hello from digg says:

    php in first pic should have used single quotes since it’s not evaluating anything.

  23. That push button, receive bacon picture was brilliant.

  24. toneii says:

    a real geek would never use “select *” due to its inherent inefficiency

  25. Annon201 says:

    We had someone around here putting up large commander keen & his dog sprites everywhere. When I saw those 16x16px sprites stuck onto transformer boxes around the city the geek inside of me had a very big grin.

  26. Annon201 says:

    well, a quick flickr search has turned up pics of em, by the guy who put them up ;D

  27. Honour Chick says:

    very creative graffiti, i like the php one the most.

  28. Elwood says:

    The last two are photoshop fakes.

  29. Oracle says:

    The ‘Select * from emp’ statement will not work as it is missing the ‘;’ or ‘/’ at the end (unless, of course, the author was going to continue the statement with a ‘where’ clause but was chased away before he could get that far…).

    Also, it’s considered bad form to start the ‘select’ keyword & the ‘from’ clauseword with a capital letter and then continue the words in lowercase; they should be either all in lowercase or all in uppercase.

    So the statement should have read:

    SELECT * from EMP;

    Now THAT’S geek!

  33. Robert says:

    @hello from digg: Actually he is using double quotes because the string contains an apostrophe which would have to be escaped if he used single quotes.

  34. dani says:
